The second edition of the African Conference on Agricultural Technologies (ACAT) 2025, hosted by the African Agricultural Technology Foundation (AATF), the continent’s premier platform for advancing agricultural technology transfer opens today in Kigali, Rwanda.

This year, the high-profile meeting of experts and stakeholders which is being hosted in partnership with the Government of Rwanda from June 9–13, 2025, at the Kigali Convention Centre in Kigali hopes to builds on the success of the inaugural event held in Nairobi, Kenya in 2023.

The event, held once in every two years is structured to showcase emerging agricultural sciences and technological innovations that promote access and improved outcomes for African farmers and patrons of the agricultural value chain.

Under the theme “NextGen Ag-Tech Solutions for Africa’s Farmers,” the 2025 ACAT 2025 brings together leaders, innovators, policymakers, researchers, farmers, and industry experts who would seek to explore cutting-edge technologies, share best practices, and foster collaboration for sustainable agricultural transformation across Africa.

According to the organisers, the meeting will offer Africa the opportunity to, once again, highlight innovations most trending scalable agricultural solutions, increase the scope of community of practitioners already established from the previous event, as well as address biases to technology, and create viable links to policy decisions to enable implementation.

They also say that it is another opportunity link to finance and resources by matchmaking countries, donors, partners, insurance and drivers of Africa’s vast agricultural value chains.
