The 8th Nigerian Family Planning Conference opened on Monday December 2nd in Abuja, with a focus on advancing the country’s family planning efforts in alignment with the Global Family Planning 2030 goals.

Themed “Sustaining Commitments for Family Planning within the Nigeria Health Sector Renewal Investment Initiative; Advancing Progress Toward Achieving FP2030 Goals,” the conference will serve as a vital platform for stakeholders to discuss the future of family planning in Nigeria.

The biennial event will bring together key experts and stakeholders in policy, advocacy, and the health sectors to engage in meaningful discussions about improving family planning services across the country.

The conference will cover a range of crucial topics, including implementation of effective family planning services through a sector-wide approach; Advocacy and Resource Mobilisation: Advancing sustainable financing models for family planning; Strengthening collaborations for better family planning outcomes using multi-stakeholder approach; Ensuring high-quality, rights-based family planning services for all; Equity and Inclusion in addressing disparities in access to family planning, particularly for vulnerable groups, among others.
