During the visit, Musenero expressed gratitude over the project’s multiple infrastructural achievements as first analysis indicated that the coffee venture is ready to produce close to four coffee product lines, including Roasted coffee bean, Ground coffee, Coffee capsules and Drip coffee.

This is as constructions and installations of components for additional products like instant soluble coffee, ready to drink cold brew and cosmetics are already underway.

The institution which is the off-taker of the green bean coffee from various regions of the country high end value addition is set to start production.

A post by Uganda’s Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) Ministry revealed that the venture previously faced several challenges including lack of coordination, heavy indebtedness, limited technical and financial support among other which the ministry has successfully managed to mitigate for the venture success.

The minister encouraged coffee farmers to embark on growing quality coffee to supply the coffee manufacturing Hub for value addition which will ultimately increase the value of the pearl’s coffee bean through the multiple value addition processes.

So far UGX 37 billion has been injected into the venture by government and more expected for full capacity operations, the ministry disclosed.
